Dan Hirsch asks NRC for San Onofre Hearing

Nuclear watchdog and angry residents demand clarity on San Onofre findings.

Published on Jun 19, 2012 by

Nuclear Watchdog Dan Hirsch presses Southern California Edison and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission for answers to questions they've been avoiding since San Onofre Nuclear power plant was shut down due to a pressurized steam generator failure months earlier.
1.How many tubes in units two and three showed wear of greater than ten percent?
2. How many tubes in units two and three showed any indication of wear?
3. Will the NRC permit an adjudicatory evidentiary hearing on the safety of the new pressurized steam generators before deciding whether or not to allow Southern California Edison to restart the San Onofre nuclear reactors?
